Single Point Partners is very excited to announce the addition of our newest Personal CFO, Seth Corkin.

I was first introduced to Seth through a pro-bono financial planning initiative we are both engaged in.  Through these initial interactions, it was immediately clear to me that he is a highly talented individual with a passion for financial planning and a strong commitment to giving back by sharing his knowledge and expertise.

At one meeting the leader of the non-profit organization read aloud a testimonial from one of the participants in the program.  This person made an emotional statement about the respect he treated her with and how working with Seth had changed her life for the better.  Although this was through a volunteer engagement, he made her feel like an important client.  Seth then spoke from the heart about how meaningful the relationship was to him as well.  The point he made that stuck with me the most was that all of us in the room (financial planners) were fortunate to work with great clients and help them grow and pass on their wealth, however, the impact he had on this pro-bono client of lesser means at a particularly difficult time in her life was one of the more meaningful planning relationships he has had in his career.

At that time, I knew that Seth was the type of person we would be looking for as our firm grows.  You will find that his technical planning skills and knowledge are best in class.  In addition to being a Certified Financial Planner® and Chartered Financial Consultant, Seth is currently working towards his designation as an Enrolled Agent.  We are certain his strong tax background will make a meaningful impact on the planning we do with our clients.  The range of planning situations Seth has worked with clients on at his prior firms (The Colony Group & Bainco) has given him an impressive wealth of knowledge.  His instincts to ask great questions make him uniquely qualified as a Personal CFO.  However, above all of that, his character and moral compass make him a perfect fit for what we are building at Single Point.

We couldn’t be more excited to have him on the team, and know that you all will enjoy getting to know him as well.

Seth Corkin | CFP® |ChFC®| Personal CFO

As a Personal CFO, my goal in working with every client is simple – help them prioritize and achieve their various personal and financial goals.  I partner directly with clients to help them quantify and evaluate the technical and emotional aspects of every financial decision given their individual circumstances.  I strive to provide a concierge-level service when advising clients and coordinating all facets of their financial lives.

Prior to joining Single Point, I was a Wealth Strategist at Bainco International Investors, working primarily with entrepreneurs, small business owners, and beneficiaries of generational wealth to integrate tax and estate planning strategies into their overall investment plan.  Before Bainco, I was a counselor at The Colony Group where I provided holistic financial planning services to executives at both private and public companies, helping them navigate their unique compensation structures, equity incentive plans, and upcoming liquidity events.

My passion for financial planning began in college while completing my undergraduate coursework at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where I developed an interest in the analytical and problem-solving components of planning. I consider myself a “lifelong learner” and am always eager to pursue educational opportunities that will help me better serve the clients with whom I work.

As someone who is passionate about financial literacy and access to advice, I volunteer my time to help low-income Massachusetts residents through the Midas Collaborative as well as patients at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. I was recognized as the 2017 Volunteer of the Year by the MA Chapter of the Financial Planning Association (FPA).  In addition to my pro bono work, I am an active member of the FPA and am on the NexGen and Finance Committees for our chapter.

I live in Brookline with my fiancé, Olivia, and am an avid Wisconsin Badger and New England sports fan.
